Last year, Celtic FC issued an apology regarding historic misconduct linked to Celtic Boys Club after a seven-figure settlement was reached in a group legal claim.
Richard Pitts, a partner at Digby Brown Solicitors in Edinburgh, said survivors should be able to take whatever time they need to process the past and decide what steps they wish to take. After almost 40 years, their client now feels ready to move forward in seeking justice.
He confirmed the firm is investigating new claims connected to the Boys Club. No further detail can be shared right now, but support will continue to be provided as the legal process develops.
Celtic is now facing fresh legal action over historical allegations tied to the youth set-up. Digby Brown said papers have been lodged at the Court of Session in Edinburgh on behalf of one survivor.
The club has been approached for comment.
Thompsons Solicitors previously represented around 30 former Boys Club players in the group action against Celtic PLC that concluded last year.
That case concerned wrongdoing at the youth organisation – which was not formally part of Celtic – involving individuals who were later convicted in court.
