Chris Sutton admits Rangers supporters should be worried after what he heard from Danny Rohl

Posted on March 4, 2026March 4, 2026 by Mrsport

Chris Sutton has not been pleased with what he has heard from Rangers manager Danny Rohl recently.

Rohl was already facing the heat after a lacklustre display against Livingston that saw the game end 2-2, and the pressure escalated after the Old Firm derby at the weekend.Rangers blew a two-goal lead against Celtic and failed to pick up the three points, with the score 2-2 at the full-time whistle.Chris Sutton slams Danny Rohl for press-conference comments
Sutton believes that Rohl should not have got himself involved in the comments made by Luke McCowan in the build-up to the Old Firm game.

McCowan spoke highly about Celtic’s credentials, as he will be expected to, and the former Hoops striker stated that the Gers boss should have stayed out of it.However, he got himself into the conversation and then failed to back it up with a win on Sunday, leaving him with egg on his face.

Sutton has stated that if he supported the Light Blues, such things would be worrying him.

He told the Warm-Up: “What would worry me if I was a Rangers fan is the stuff Danny Rohl talked about.

“What he got involved in the week with Luke McCowan.

“First of all, I don’t agree with anything McCowan says. I mean, who cares?

“What worries me is why is Danny Rohl even getting involved in that.”What Rohl needs to change ahead of Rangers vs Celtic
Rohl has the chance to right some of the wrongs in recent weeks with another clash against Celtic, but this time in the Scottish Cup.

Home advantage will be key, and that makes Rangers favourites, but the German needs to change a few things.

He is expected to drop Ryan Naderi and go with Mohamed Diomande in the middle of the park so as to give them more solidity.

Celtic capitalised on the lack of physicality in midfield, and Rohl needs to respond by starting Diomande this Sunday.

Also, Sutton does make a valid point, the Gers boss cannot be getting involved in comments made by other players.

He has to focus on getting the best out of the players he has at his disposal and give fans a reason to be happy and end the season on the right note.
