The Celtic Fans Collective have reacted swiftly to the club’s latest commercial drive, reinforcing their ongoing boycott campaign.

Supporter frustration has spilled onto the terraces at times this season. Late arrivals and visible demonstrations have been part of the picture, but the longer-running effort has been financial.

The Collective’s ‘Not Another Penny’ campaign has encouraged supporters to avoid purchasing club merchandise, food, or drink inside Celtic Park.

The objective is simple. Hit the club in the pocket.

That message re-emerged almost immediately after Celtic revealed a new Adidas Irish Origins clothing range on Wednesday.

Former Celtic winger Aiden McGeady is front and centre of the campaign, promoting the latest collection released by the club and its kit manufacturer.

The launch did not go unnoticed by the Fans Collective.

They issued a direct response shortly after the announcement.

“A huge summer rebuild is required – Michael Nicholson and Chris McKay cannot be trusted to oversee it. Recent transfer windows and the current state of the playing squad show why.

“The Not Another Penny campaign is working. Keep it up and force the change.”

It is the same message that supporters behind the campaign have promoted for months.

Their belief is that pressure, particularly financial pressure, is the only way to force meaningful change at boardroom level.

Communication between the club and sections of the support remains tense.

While Celtic continue to roll out commercial campaigns and merchandise releases, the boycott call from the Collective has not disappeared.

Their latest statement also highlights the scale of the task awaiting Celtic this summer.

The club are heading towards a major reset.

There is still no permanent manager in place, several players are currently at the club on loan deals, and key decisions regarding the squad remain on the horizon.

It is a situation that inevitably draws parallels with the summer of 2021.

That was when Ange Postecoglou arrived and oversaw sweeping changes to the squad, rebuilding the side and delivering the league title in his first season.

For now, the focus on the pitch remains straightforward.

Celtic are still in the middle of a title battle and have work to do between now and the end of the campaign.

Off the park, the issues between the club and elements of the support continue to simmer.

There is still no progress on the potential return of the Green Brigade.

Their ban currently runs until this weekend’s match against Motherwell. Members of the group met with the club recently but were reportedly told that Police Scotland are not satisfied that there has been a change in behaviour since the ban was introduced.
