Supercomputer predicts Final Scottish Premiership Table and how many points Rangers, Hearts and Celtic will FINISH with

Posted on March 16, 2026 by Mrsport

The Scottish Premiership title race could be heading for one of the most dramatic finishes in recent memory if the latest supercomputer projections are anything to go by.

With only a handful of games remaining, the battle between Celtic, Hearts and Rangers has tightened to an extraordinary level, and the latest simulations suggest the final table could be decided by the finest of margins.

According to the supercomputer model (Football Meets Data), Celtic are currently predicted to finish the season on 76.6 expected points on average, with the most likely outcome placing them on 77 points. That projection places the Hoops narrowly ahead in the race for the title, although the difference between the top three clubs is incredibly small.

Hearts are predicted to finish almost level with Celtic in the final standings. The model estimates the Edinburgh side will average 76.5 points by the end of the campaign, with their most common projected finish sitting at 76 points.

Those numbers highlight just how competitive the title race has become, with Hearts still very much capable of pushing Celtic all the way until the final matchday.

Rangers are also firmly in the mix according to the projections. The supercomputer predicts Danny Röhl’s side will finish with an average of 75.3 expected points, with the most likely outcome also placing them on 76 points.

That means all three sides could realistically end the campaign separated by just a single point — or even level in certain scenarios.

The projections underline just how tight the race has become heading into the final stretch of the season. While Celtic currently hold a slight edge in the simulations, the gap between the three clubs is so narrow that a single result could completely reshape the standings.

If Rangers were to reach their projected mode of 76 points, for example, they could find themselves level with Hearts depending on how results fall elsewhere. Meanwhile, Celtic’s projected 77-point finish leaves very little margin for error if their rivals continue picking up wins.

The supercomputer’s forecast also highlights how unpredictable the final weeks of the season could be.

With Celtic, Hearts and Rangers all operating within such a narrow points range, the title race is effectively wide open. Any dropped points from one contender could instantly shift the balance of power.

For supporters across Scotland, that means the Premiership run-in promises drama until the very end.

If the projections prove accurate, the league title may not be decided until the final matchday — with every point, every goal and every result potentially proving decisive in one of the tightest Scottish Premiership races in years.
