Rangers FC Facing Scottish FA Sanctions After Chaotic Pitch Invasion Injures Fans and Celtic Staff

Rangers could be facing disciplinary action from the Scottish Football Association following the chaotic scenes that erupted at Ibrox after their Scottish Cup defeat to Celtic. The dramatic quarter-final clash ended in a 0–0 draw after 120 minutes before Celtic held their nerve to win 4–2 on penalties, but the aftermath has now become the main focus after supporters from both sides flooded onto the pitch.

Disorder Overshadows Derby
What should have been remembered for the football quickly descended into ugly scenes as hundreds of supporters invaded the pitch moments after the final whistle.

Celebrations from Celtic supporters in the Broomloan Stand spilled onto the playing surface after Tomas Cvancara converted the decisive penalty in the shootout.

However, Rangers supporters also rushed onto the field in response, triggering chaotic confrontations that forced police and stewards to intervene.Reports suggest objects were thrown during the clashes, while several individuals were injured amid the disorder.Celtic Staff and Players Caught in the Chaos

SFA Investigation Underway
The Scottish FA quickly confirmed that an investigation had been launched into the events at Ibrox.

Officials will now review match reports, security footage and evidence provided by both clubs and Police Scotland before deciding whether disciplinary measures are required.Because Rangers were the host club responsible for stadium security, they could face sanctions if the governing body determines that they failed to adequately control their supporters.

Possible punishments could include financial penalties, stadium restrictions or other disciplinary measures depending on the findings of the investigation.Rangers Already Responded

Rangers have already released a statement condemning the scenes and confirming they will fully cooperate with the authorities as the investigation continues.

The club acknowledged the seriousness of the incidents and stressed their commitment to assisting officials in identifying those responsible for the disorder.

Fallout Continues
The Old Firm derby is always one of the most intense fixtures in world football, but the chaos that unfolded at Ibrox has sparked widespread criticism across Scottish football. With police confirming arrests and the SFA continuing its probe, the full consequences of the disorder are still to come.

For Rangers, the focus will now shift from the disappointment of their cup exit to the potential disciplinary action that could follow in the coming weeks.
