“ABSOLUTE DlSGRACE! Julian Araujo L0SES HIS MIND and LĀSHES 0UT at Mikey Moore with DlSGUSTING Gesture in Expl0sive Old Firm Derby!”

Posted on March 3, 2026 by Mrsport

Tensions boiled over at the full-time whistle as Celtic completed a remarkable comeback to draw 2-2 at Ibrox.Martin O’Neill’s side had trailed by two goals after Youssef Chermiti’s superb first-half double, before Kieran Tierney pulled one back with a composed header following good build-up play. In the dying seconds, Reo Hatate eventually converted from the rebound after Jack Butland had saved his initial penalty, the spot kick awarded following a VAR review that penalised Dujon Sterling for handball.

The final whistle sparked a series of flashpoints between the two sets of players. Luke McCowan, Mohamed Diomande and Nicolas Raskin were involved in a heated exchange of words, before Mikey Moore shoved Julian Araujo. The Mexican full-back, who had been directly up against the Tottenham loanee throughout the match, reacted by moving back toward the commotion and appeared to grab his crotch area while staring directly at Moore. That gesture incensed the young Englishman further, and it took the intervention of Callum McGregor, Dane Murray and Djeidi Gassama to restrain him.

The scenes were fiery but relatively minor in the grand scheme of derby flashpoints, amounting to little more than handbags in the immediate aftermath of an emotionally charged match.

The two sides will not have long to wait before facing each other again. The Glasgow rivals meet once more at Ibrox in the Scottish Cup in just under seven days.
