Celtic failed in their appeal to have Auston Trusty’s red card overturned as the SFA issue a fine to the Parkhead club.

The Glasgow giants have highlighted their ‘serious issue’ with VAR after Trusty saw red in Celtic’s defeat to Hibs at the weekend.Celtic appealed the decision and as the SFA shared their ruling, the Parkhead club revealed what the VAR audio said as the Hoops slammed the decision.Celtic are fined as the SFA share their ruling on Auston Trusty’s red card
Celtic boss Martin O’Neill was not happy with the red card decision but did concede that Trusty should not have reacted in the way he did.And it appears that the national association agrees.

On the SFA’s official website, the national association said, “Claim Dismissed. Original sanction of a red card for sending off offence A2 – Violent Conduct is re-imposed with immediate effect.

“Payment of £650 Appeal Deposit to be made within 30 days.”“In discussions with Celtic Manager Martin O’Neill after the match this was something he also confirmed.

“However, VAR again decided to intervene to ‘re-referee’ an initial decision which had been made.

“While we await the written judgement, this and other decisions in the match and in other recent games demonstrate a serious issue with VAR and its current deployment which needs urgently reviewed.”

Trusty will now miss Celtic’s next three Scottish Premiership fixtures against Rangers, Aberdeen and Motherwell as Martin O’Neill chases Hearts and Rangers for the title.

The Celtic boss has a selection problem ahead of those games as O’Neill decides if he will bring in Benjamin Arthur or Dane Murray at Ibrox for the big make-or-break game of the Bhoys’ season.“In discussions with Celtic Manager Martin O’Neill after the match this was something he also confirmed.
